Yesterday, Yen Press announced that they will be releasing a special dust jacket featuring the delicious original artwork by Ayakura Juu. Previously, Yen Press had come under fire by some hardcore fans about the changing of the cover which some described as ‘distasteful’. The change of covers was for marketability. Reasoning that with this new cover they could broaden their marketing opportunities. Rather than just selling to the manga crowd they could also reach the fantasy readers as well. Which is perfectly understandable. Making money is the number one priority. But Yen Press, for all their awesomeness, have other high priorities.

This would be the happiness of the fans. They announced they would release this dust jacket to online retailers and those who ordered online would receive it. They also releases the jacket in the Yen magazine. But from what I’ve read of those who got it from there, things aren’t so positive. You can’t please everyone. Which is the case. Some people are arguing that the people who don’t buy theirs online are being pushed to the side, or bringing up the point Sankaku Complex made in that ‘customers are important to us; But not important enough for them to change the cover back to the overwhelmingly preferred original, it seems’. (Really, I stopped visiting Sankaku Complex three months ago to preserve my faith in humanity, so I’m just going off some of the things I’ve just read in the comments of said article).

While I am currently unemployed and unable to purchase the novel online, I will be buying it as soon as possible. This is one of my top five series. Of course, silly cover or not, I’ll be buying it! I will have to suffer with the new cover but that’s okay. The story is the same. Are people forgetting that? I mean it’s just a cover. I was a little bitter at first. But I’m just a sucker for Ayakura’s art. It’s not like they edited the story crazily here or anything. Hell, Yen Press is one of the best manga publishers there is. I mean, hello, it’s not like we’re dealing with freaking Tokyopop here. Now that would be tragic. They wouldn’t think twice about offending and enraging the fanbase (we still remember Rozen Maiden, jerks).

But I would like to ask anyone who is thinking of purchasing the Spice and Wolf novel to please order it online. I spoke, sorta, with them earlier and asked whether or not we can expect the new covers or the original for the rest of the series. They responded with saying:

“We will continue to produce alternate covers for future Spice & Wolf novels. We can’t expect retail support for them otherwise. Whether or not those alternate covers are jackets with the original covers underneath or we continue to offer jackets like this will be dictated by the success of this jacket. It will give us a great opportunity to gauge the success of each version. So this your chance, Spice & Wolf fans! An actual opportunity to vote with your dollars! Not buying tells us nothing. What you buy speaks volumes!“

Totally fair logic. So you heard them! We already know this great publishing company actually cares what we think! So now it’s up to you guys to tell them! And like they said, the best way to do this is to buy the series not boycott it! You’ll just be loosing out on a really great story. So I encourage everyone, I practically want to BEG everyone to go out and buy the novel online!

As of yet, the list of retailers that have agreed to participate in shipping out the cover with the novel is unknown. When further information is known on the list of retailers, I will update this post.

I thought this was too great to pass up. Like are you serious? Well we do have Moetan who teaches you English. So why not shake it up a bit?

We have here a series of textbooks (so to speak) that teach you various things such as calculus, electricity and physics. But as manga. Sorta. Now I don’t know how good these books are. From one of the reviews I read it seemed that [calculus] book’s story about the journalist was more interesting than the actual work. But of course. It’s calculus. It’s not interesting at all! Although I had to admit that the bit I read of the calculus book had me titterring.

Anyways, in the series you’ll find The Manga Guide to Calculus, The Manga Guide to Physics, The Manga Guide to Molecular Biology, The Manga Guide to Electricity, The Manga Guide to Databases, The Manga Guide to the Universe, and The Manga Guide to Statistics.

Now I think I’ll be trying to get my hands on the Molecular Biology book. Which is, of course, the best of the best of science. My very favourite! So I’ll be watching out for that like a hawk.

禁じられた童話たち
Quiet opener. A classic. Shows us what we’re in store for. A little misleading seeing as this is so calm and placid. The actual album is a bit more into the gothic rock variety. But still a nice short listen.

穢れなきもの × ラプンツェル
Like I said, gothic rock. The vocalist, while great, seems sort of anti-climatic when she finally starts singing. I’m actually reminded of a lot of cool Vocarock songs that have a great buildup but then seem lame when Miku starts singing. But like I said, vocalist is great. No complaints.

溺れた人魚 × 人魚姫
Really like this one. Guess its just cause I don’t normally listen to rock or anything when I do these. Vocalist does a little better to fit in this time. Still, she seems a little soft and calm against the powerful song. Well, when her tempo picked up I liked that. But just reading a couple reviews here will tell you I can be won over by fast singing. This vocalist, Chika I think?, does a great job still. She can sing faster and against the fast and crazy music without getting pushed aside. So take that Latte.

歪んだ世界に聴こえる羽音 × 青い鳥
Oh I guess I was wrong about that first track. A slower piano track here. Which fits the vocalist much better. Much more suited to her quieter style. Pretty tragic sounding, really.

血塗れた森 × 赤ずきん
No wasting time picking back up. Our cute vocalist does an even better job of fitting in. Something about this song sounds really familiar. Which I really like. Some may say it sounds overdone (yes, I could probably find a Touhou arrange somewhere in my itunes that sounds something like this) but I disagree. Although the music itself annoyed me a bit with the way it stopped and started really quick after the chorus the first time. But we can overlook that as personal taste. And the song makes up for it around the 2:30 mark. Dailogue sounds interesting this time around too so I really wish I knew what the story was behind this album. I know it has one.

残酷な距離 × 白鳥の湖
A little different sounding here. Still faster but with a more sense of… urgency? Nice. I can appreciate that. Vocalist seems a little pushed behind the music this time around but still not to an annoying amount because they do lots of interesting things with her voice and the chorus is delicious. So I can ignore a little quietness this time.

願い星 × マッチ売りの少女
Another piano track. The longest track on the album. Not as slow this time around. Still something sad about her though. Which is the point, I suppose. Near the two minute mark, guitars join back in which makes the song less sad sounding and background vocals chime in every now and then. You know how I also love that. By the end of the song, that slow sad feeling is gone and it’s a full blown, yet serious, affair. Loved that to pieces.

ひかりのむこうへ × 星の銀貨
Another slightly pop-ish track I love. Things slow down a bit with some piano doing most of the work. But from the start of the song you can tell that won’t last. Yes, a nice ballad. That is what she can do the very best.

幸福への道しるべ
An instrumental to finish us off. Beautifully, I might add.

Fang’s rating: 9½/10
Recommended Tracks: 願い星 × マッチ売りの少女 (7), ひかりのむこうへ × 星の銀貨 (8)

Thanks, as usual, to Pingas who provided this for me. I totally forgot about this. I actually had another album planned before I spent the rest the night doing nothing at all. Maybe I’ll get to that album if it is any good.

Album Name: Exit Trance presents Speed Anime Trance Best 8
Artist/Group: EXIT TRANCE (Quake Records)
Release Date: 11/04/09
Website: http://9819.jp/cd/exit_tunes/qwce00131.html

ふわふわ時間
Nice start to the album. Cute vocals and very cute song. I like, near the end, the part that speeds up a little. It reminds me of Koharu Biyori. Which then also makes me sad that spastic OP was never covered. What a shame. Yes, I think after that Anime House album I’ve seen how high quality the Exit Trance albums really are. Like. How good. Never thought I’d praise them so highly. But I am. Ah, perhaps its because Camry does thing song as well? Hadn’t noticed that on my first listen. She’s getting less and less. Isn’t it sad, Camry?

止マレ!
A little biased here because I really just hate Tomare! and think it is a really terrible song. So while this isn’t awful itself, I couldn’t look past the original. The song itself was pretty listenable. The guitar sounded both cool and out of place. Very awkward. The vocalist did well too. Very Hirano Aya-ish.

君へとつなぐココロ
Ah, this reminds me I wanted to check this series out. Comedy isn’t my thing but I got a Kanameno poster in my room and the cute lolis keep telling me to go watch it. Good thing I’m good at ignoring lolis. Or am crazy. Anywho, not as spectacular as track one and two. If you could call them that. Spectacular is the wrong word in many ways. Vocalists are very cute. I can’t think of anything else to say though.

林檎もぎれビーム!
Hmmmm… now that I think about it I don’t remember the other SZS OPs getting covered. Is that because they were terrible and forgettable or because they are nonexistant? Mixed feelings. Pretty good but I never really listened to the original. They all match up well to what I remember. And I approve of them pulling off something a little more rockish well.

Super Driver
More Suzumiya Haruhi? Might as well get it out of the way now like K-ONs OP and ED instead of dragging them out for many albums. Who do they think they are? Nanoha? Pretty good cept the other vocalist made a better Aya.

Mind as Judgement
Finally, a song I like originally! Butbut… Latte. LATTE. She actually does well here. Sort of. The same problem I see in all her songs. She sounds… muffled. Very low. She can abrely compete with the music. Which was what ruined the Index songs for me. Which has her as an iffy vocalist for me. That is the case here. Atleast the song itself is a badass version of an already badass song.

片翼の鳥
You disgust me. Get your sorry song out of my face. Make up your own ‘it’s useless, it’s all useless!’ and Trollkastel jokes here. “The remix of “One Winged Bird” is laughably bad.” – kewlmyc

Staple Stable
Latte gets more songs than CAMRY? Bullshit. That’s right. I said it. Luckily for her, she doesn’t compete with the music as much. But this isn’t as impressive song as the Index songs are track six.

私の恋はホッチキス
More K-ON? Blah. Not as impressive as the first track. But I don’t know much out of K-ON aside from the infamous OP and ED. But this pretty much all the Camry we get so I’ll take what I’m given.

KARMA
Lots of good songs toward the end if seems. Appears I was wrong. But I did say I thought this was a common title. Sorry if I messed anyone up. That being said, this is one of those tracks that makes you look up the original. For me atleast. Vocalist sort of suffers Latte-ism. Fighting for the main spot over the music.

Super Scription of Data
Another one I was looking forward to. But unlike track motherfucking seven, pretty good. The vocalist (which I was seriously dead surprised to see was YURiE) sounded a little soft and didn’t convey the emotion Eiko did in the original. Which made the song so amazing for me when I first heard it. But still pretty good.

Glossy:MMM
I like this song the original. Saki is just really great. I mean, haven’t watched more than a episode but I have some Saki posters on my wall (damn you Megami). This song, however, does the original no justice. You’re just not doing it for me Ma15.

本日、満開ワタシ色！
I tried. Oh lord did I try to think of something to say about this song. I was neither impressed nor dismayed. I just didn’t find anything special about the song. I have nothing to say. Which says a lot on it’s own, doesn’t it?明日

へのキズナ
Ohoho. Latte. My arch-enemy. One of those songs that have me looking up the original. Latte isn’t completely failtastic here. But still can’t hear her for nothing. But who knows. I’m sure I’m not the only one who sees this problem. I thought it was me but with or without headphones she still sounds the same. Inaudible.

YAHHO!!
Kanameno again. Like how they’re compiling a whole series’s songs in one album. Leaves room for more variety in future albums? The song itself is pretty fun but the vocalist, MAKI, doesn’t portray the cuteness… cute enough.

Parallel Hearts
The original song of this lost its novelty quickly but I still was looking forward to this one. Once again, YURiE is surprising. She usually has more powerful roles. She seems… subdued. The song itself is pretty well done. But the vocals and the Nanoha-esque song clash.

Inner Universe
Oh you have no idea how happy I was this was what I thought it was. This song is a classic. And I was immediately impressed. The song itself may not match the creepy tone of the original but the vocals are great. R.Cena appears again. She did pretty well earlier. She does well again. She has won my liking by doing well on a song I like. Where, unfairly I suppose, I judge Latte at.

Futuristic Imagination
Another I was looking forward to! Great song, the original. It was a song that really awed me. Something about it literally humbled me. Which sounds dumb but its true. The song itself is really great. I’d like the vocaless version of it one day I hope. The vocals aren’t great but not terrible. Tolerable, if you will.

キミノウタ
This series has always seemed interesting to me but I didn’t hear outstanding reviews so I left it be. vocals from YUKI are nice (gotta love consistency) but song doesn’t stand out to me.

21st century dreamin’ girl
A first in the Speed Anime series. An original bonus track by Ryu with MAKI doing vocals. I really wish I could say I was more impressed. I could see this being for a popular anime series, easily. But it just doesn’t appeal to me. I’m sure it’s right up someone elses alley.

Fang’s rating: 8/10 (better than some previous releases in the series, not anything amazing though)
Recommended Tracks: Inner Universe (17), KARMA (10)

IOSYS in my blog? It’s more likely than you think. Well this isn’t a touhou album so I guess it’s okay. I mean, IOSYS never really grabs my attention (okay, PV songs aside) so I don’t normally give the album a listen when they first come out. That being said, this is pretty old. But my new policy is to review even older stuff! And it was only released tihs year so what am I saying…? Anywho, it’s new to me! Plus, the next IOSYS album in the series comes out this month. But unless this one turns out to be stellar (and it’s not from what I’ve already heard) I won’t be picking it up due to the painfully generic tracklist.

Album Name: ANIME HOUSE PROJECT 神曲 selection vol.1
Artist/Group: IOSYS
Release Date: 8/26/09
Website: http://animehouse.jp/

I didn’t know anything about this ‘project’ at all until I looked at the site. I was a little confused at first but figured it out. This particular instalment is by IOSYS. There are two other releases one dealing with Shounen-y tracks (or so I speculate) and one by ‘Somatrope’ both of which I’ve never heard of but whatever. All the albums feautre about 12 songs. If you have any further information to add, please do. Because I’ll need do more research when I get my hands on the other instalments. The nextalbum of IOSYS’s in this instalment comes out November 25.

Don’t Say Lazy
I have a feeling this will become one of the most heavily remixed songs in the next while. But meh. It might still be too early to say that. Anyways, off the bat I like this more than the Exit Trance one. I’m sorry but I’ll be making these comparisons throughout the whole album. The vocals don’t sound very Mio-ish to me but they grew on me. They just sound a little off at the start. The whole song reeks of ARM. A good thing. A very good thing. Another good thing? All the songs on this album are long. None are less than six minute save for one five minute song which clocks in at 5:58. Two seconds. Two. Maybe I’m just easily impressed.

空色デイズ
Ah, Sorairo Days. The song that started this whole mess. More ARM going on all over the place. Dr. RM at that, guessing from the blabber at the begining. So what? Does Albatrosicks just sing karaoke in their giant pink ship when they aren’t trying to save the universe or whatever their plot is? Errr wrong time for that. While I love miko, I can’t say this is much better than the Exit Trance version. It’s just so… mellow. Gurren-Lagann music should be pumping and exciting. This sort of takes that feeling away. Still, a great listen if you love miko. I hope you do.

残酷な天使のテーゼ
Ah, the infamous Eva theme sung jazzmaster A~YA. Hmmm, I rather like her. Although I usually skip her tracks because I loathe jazz usually. I feel the same about this as track two sorta. They mellow it down. Cept this has a lot more going on so it’s still pretty fast. The chorus is really upbeat too. Still loving the length of the songs because even between vocals is pretty awesome.

輪舞 – revolution
From the title I couldn’t tell what song this was. I actually still don’t. What do I know? It’s pretty awesome. The extra vocals remind me of JAM Project for some reason and those were the best parts. It would probably help if I knew what this was originally but I still enjoyed it nonetheless!

ブルーウォーター
Cool&Create join us and I have no idea what the original is of this. Unlike track four though, I didn’t enjoy it as much. Slowed down isn’t as interesting, maybe?

Believe
Man, why is Nami Tamaki never remixed in these things? I always get my hopes up. Anywho, bitter thoughts aside. Something cute going on. But the trend continues and I’ve no idea what the original is. But a nice switch to pop nonetheless.

ETERNAL BLAZE
Interesting. Loved the background vocals and the main vocals caught me off guard. So did the slow guitar and piano. So unlike the original. A little pop/jazz going on but I totally don’t mind. I was in love as soon as they surprised me twice. The vocals are great too. I’m just all Nana Mizuki-ied out. I can barely listen to her anymore. I can’t think of anything else to say about the song other than actually loving the mellowed feel of this one. I approve. Greatly.

夢は終わらない～こぼれ落ちる時の雫～
I can’t place this song but I know I’ve heard it. The singer from the first track returns. I don’t recognize her from the IOSYS works I do listen to. I don’t really listen to COOL&CREATE either so if she’s from there I’m wouldn’t know. Slower pop but I’m still buzzed from track seven so I didn’t really appreciate this one.

創聖のアクエリオン
Ah, Genesis of Aquarion. I used to be obsessed with this song. I really liked the Elemental version… anyways, I’m not thorougly impressed with this one though. Mostly because I, personally, have this godlike image of the song in my head and turning it into the usual just doesn’t work for me. The chorus was really enjoyable though.

Butter – Fly
Again, no clue where from. I’d like to take guess and say this might be the same Butterfly from the first ET album? I wasn’t familiar with it then either. And I don’t want to get familiar with this version either.

夢を信じて
Don’t know much about Sound Cyclone although the name rings a bell. The vocalist is pretty cute. There was something raw in her voice when she reached for higher notes that I’ve always really liked. Don’t know the original but this song is pretty nice trance so it doesn’t really hinder me here.

鳥の詩
Ah, the greatest finishing touch. Tori no Uta sung by Katagiri Rekka. So nice. To Rekka pulling the vocals off flawlessly to the catchy song itself. Managing to capture the original drama in the song and turning it into something a little more light. Yes, if anything was gained from this album it was this wonderful track.

Fang’s Rating: 6/10 (A few tracks stand out and the song lengths are great but fairly mediocre for the most part )
Recommended tracks: Eternal Blaze (7), 鳥の詩 (3)

They have improved lately. Well hell, I misread! Actually, I skipped it. I was skimming the list and saw it! Now I’m both terrifiyed and excited! They have a newbie singer preforming it… ehhh… at least not Latte right? We have to look forward to are Canaan’s ‘Mind of Judgement’, Pandora Heart’s ‘Parallel Hearts’, Saki’s ‘Glossy:MMM’, Bakemonogatari’s ‘Stable Staple’, Tales of Abyss’s ‘Karma’, Eden of the East’s ‘Futuristic Imagination’, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei’s ‘Super Scription of Data’, and Ghost in the Shell’s ‘Inner Universe’. I know there are two Kanameno and Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu tracks as well. I’m also not 100% sure on Karma and Inner Universe. They don’t sound like common titles though.

Jeez, now I’m a little excited.

Also, thank you to Quake Records for finally putting the illustrators names on the album pages. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.

I planned to work on Loli Salad all weekend, starting tonight. I’m not doing much besides taking Princess loli-Leia (my sister) trick or treating tomorrow and possibly watching some scary movies tonight. So I plan to do a few things around here. But as usual twitter and Nightbug Creations distracted me. I plan on writing up a few reviews (starting with theat Anime House IOSYS thing) and looking at some new plugins, possibly. I’m also planning on starting to make a directory page of all the album reviews, sorted by artist. But that’s just what I want to do. Instead of doing it, I’m sitting here telling you what I want to do. So I’ll go work on that right now. (Actually, I started writing this at six. Six hours later and I haven’t even finished this post.)

I mean this video was uploaded in August (around the time of the Albatrosicks review here on Loli Salad) so it’s nothing new. But I hadn’t even heard IOSYS had done an anime album! You can bet there will be a review of this album in the near future. It doesn’t sound great but it’s miko. MIKO. I’m actually reminded of the early Exit Trance stuff (which the new instalment should be out soon, right? I hope I’m not behind…) but that Sorairo Days was good. Meh. Exit Trance never had miko (or ARM for that matter, since he produced this remix)! So I’ll give this darned album a shot! Look forward to it~

EDIT: they have Katagiri Rekka doing a version of Tori no Uta? I think I foamed at the mouth a little. In a good way! Next you’ll be telling me REDALiCE helps out too!

Short album review for you guys here. Obviously only picked it up for the cover since I know NOTHING of Wind Tune. I gotta stop doing that, right? Well, I was under the impression that Wind Tune was a trance group? Maybe I’m confusing them with someone else…

(I actually didn’t know this album was very recent. Neat)

Today we’ll be using the demos posted on the site for your listening pleasure. Just giving you a heads up in case something seems off. Again, please tell me if something doesn’t work.

Album Name: 旅人のうた
Artist/Group: Wind Tune
Release Date: 10/11/09 (M3-24)
Website: http://windtune.jp/tabi/index.html

Since I don’t give a description of the album, I usually muddle the tracks up with explanations. I’ll try giving you one now. Brace yourself. This is not, as I had so wished, a Spice and Wolf album (people don’t generally do that for anime series, do they?) although just listening you might not think that. The style is “set in medieval Europe in vocal music and instrumental music” with Spice and Wolf being a heavy inspiration. A wide variety of instruments help set this mood. Guitar, flute, oboe, violin, etc. A short (at only six tracks) but interesting album.

雨上がり
If I hadn’t listened on, which I hate doing when I’m reviewing, I wouldn’t have thought this fit the ‘medieval Europe’ style at all. It’s probably the guitar. Well it isn’t even the song so much. The vocals seem a little out of place for this style. But they’re still nice. I’ve probably listened to a dozen albums where this vocalist would fit in better. That goes vice versa as well.

二人旅
This is where listening ahead comes in handy. Now this could easily be an arrangement of a track or two from the OST. Maybe a sort of cross between Tsukiyo no Tategami and Shounin to Ookami to, Tabi no Nibasha? N-Not that I love that OST or anything! [/tsuntsun] Anywho, like I said heavy S&W vibes. Whether it is or isn’t just vaguely related or not, you have to see it. I mean unless you’ve never watched the series. Which just made me realize how biased I was in trying to explain this. Well I did say there was some interesting instruments involved and you can certainly hear them now. Which is nice. Really nice, actually. Maybe there is just too much artificial stuff now? Nice to hear some real sounding music.

城下町の風景
Didn’t start off sounding like our theme but bounced back into it. I had to restrain myself from making another comparison. Although if you compare the two albums as wholes, they’re pretty different. This album may get it’s style from that OST and series but they’re very different. The OST is aunthentic in trying to sound like the period it’s depicting. I’m not saying this isn’t. It’s just a little less believable.

放浪日和
Usually I don’t think there are enough vocal tracks on an album like this. As you can guess that isn’t the case here. It’s just that it doesn’t fit the style. Which I suppose they might not be going for here. But the site said the album as the whole was going for that theme. More or less anyways. This is an upbeat, pop song from our cute vocalist again. Mostly though, the same feelings from track one apply.

旅人のうた
A sort of slower track here. Which I can imagine is harder. It sounds easy to crank out an upbeat tune like what we’ve already heard. But keeping in style and creating something a little more serious? While I don’t think it stands out as much as the other two, I think it does very well. For some unexplainable reason, I was reminded more of Motoi Sakuraba’s Eternal Sonata OST rather than the Spice and Wolf OST. But, heck, that might just be what I heard. And also, maybe that’s a big compliment? That sort of depends on who you ask though. I am one who will tell you it’s great though.

キョリ
I was hoping for something slower and more serious for our finale and they seem to deliver. The vocals really seem out of place in this one. That isn’t to say the are bad. They just aren’t great. Although I did enjoy the parts where the song would pause and she seemed to sing higher. This is probably one of those songs that would be just better off as an instrumental. That’s about as much praise I can muster up for it.

Fang’s Rating: 7/10 (Interesting idea but vocal tracks sort of mess it up )
Recommended tracks: 二人旅 (2), 城下町の風景 (3)

(If you notice an error in the title of this album, please tell me. I wasn’t sure if this information was reliable or not). This was one of the albums I downloaded purely for the cover. Delicious Patchouli and cute Nazrin? Count me in! Little did I know how awesome this album was. So excuse me if nobody else was interested in a review of this. I had originally planned to update with a sorta-not-not-official-we need to see other people-goodybye post. So this is better, right?

Album Name: Touhou Rat Kingdom
Artist/Group: Denshi Hotaru (?)
Release Date: 08/14/09 (Comiket 76)

夢と魔法の国,東方ナズリーランド
A kind of slow, peaceful track to start us off. Something like this could be the title theme, couldn’t it? Well maybe not. But it’s certainly something along those lines. Pretty short. But that’s okay cause we have more interesting things to move onto.

02 – 共産主義による新世界！～It’s a communist world.
A very upbeat (okay, now I’m wondering about a remix of this song that ISN’T upbeat and cheery)trance Native Faith. The site seems to list crimson Dead? Too lazy to check if I’m mistaken. I mean this song as is recognizable as U.N Owen. Anyways, pretty fairly basic and plain trance. I have heard much better versions of the songs in such a way but that doesn’t stop the song from being enjoyable. No way! Instead I want to go take on Suwako and play MoF right now!

姉妹は転調が大好きのようです
And U.N Owen was Her, as expected. You think people would get tired of the song. I, for one, haven’t. Showing off the variety of genre in this album we have a very chaotic piano song. Sort of sounds like Flan is mashing thepiano hersel, doesn’t it? That is a very good image to have I think.

レジェンド・オブ・モリヤ
Another piano based track. Less so than track three though. Drums are very prominent also. I have recently fallen in love with Cirno’s theme so this is a real treat.

05 – ふたりはLoveDeath!!
The beginning always stirs something in me. Like taking a great big leap, or the drop at the highest peak of a rollercoster. The song is entirely piano and switches between three different Imperishable Night songs. The switches and mashing is pulled off brilliantly.

ビッグサンダー・パラソルマウンテン
Some more trance based on Alice’s theme I think (and something else?). Very quick and exciting. As indicated by the intro, there’s a little heavier atmosphere here than in track two. Which works well to make her image creepy.

ちっておいしいちるちるちるの
More piano with that fast and chaotic feel. One of the things I loved about this album was how entrancing it was. I would listen to it and stop what I was doing just to listen to it. This song provided an example of such a thing. It sort of demands that I stop whatever I’m doing and listen to it. We really need more of that.

08 – イースタンランド・シューティングギャラリー
Like the last trance track, we up the ante. We’re treated to a sort of creepy intro and a that feeling lingers on throughout the song. It’s not as basic as the previous two either. Which would make this my favourite of the three so far. Also got to love that this is the longest track on the album at six minutes.

すわすわすわっぴ
Creepy intro and I figured most of the same things I said about track eight applied here. But we get Miku Hatsune singing to us this time. Distorted vocals (sort of underwaterish to me) make an exclamation point to how strange this song is. I don’t know what a rat kingdom is but this song certainly feels like one.

鼠の国のアリス
All kinds of synth going on here. Some neat, for this album, guitar at the beginning. Besides that, sounding mostly like the opening track.

Fang’s Rating: 7½/10 (I love this album for sure. But I’m pretty sure most people won’t be as enthralled. )
Recommended tracks: イースタンランド・シューティングギャラリー (8), 姉妹は転調が大好きのようです (3)
