5 Adaptions I’d Like To See, Part 2

Back when LS was new and shiny (and pretty poorly in control I might add) I did a post I really liked (and a few others as well, I should guess) about some things that should be anime series. Well. They aren’t. None of them. Gore Screaming Show, Cross World, Mirai Nikki or Peace@Pieces (we won’t count Touhou), none. Which is sad. So let’s hope these do better, right?

  1. Gosick
Gosick is my prime choice. Although I tried to pick some things based on what the majority would like. I actually think more fans in the english community would like Tokyopop to get off their ass and release on schedule just plain release the second freaking volume. But Gosick already has manga I think and an anime would be really great if it retained the charm of the original art. Perhaps if SHAFT took care of it? Although that is a cliche to pick. Hmmm. Well whoever made Rozen Maiden? Now that would be a perfect match.
  2. Shikkoku no Sharnoth
I actually don’t think this would be in high demand. But the characters, their names and the art of the original game is all very unique and intruging. I can’t help but think though that it would end up like so many other interesting but specifically good looking things that get animated (I’ll use my two favourite manga series as examples: Yozakura Quartet and Princess Ressurection), they become bland and generic. That could be said of a lot of certain things…
  3. Gore Screaming Show
The only survivor from the last list! While I think generic-animu disease could happen to Sharnoth I think that if this ended up looking like Chaos;Head or School Days we could have a real winner on our hands with Gore Screaming Show. Why do I think it could be hard to make this so generic? Sharnoth is dark but it’s dark in apperance. As in many dark scenes. GSS is a gory mess. Perhaps that’s why?
  4. Hibiki’s Magic
This is personal. I mean, come on! If you even know what this series is, raise your hand. If people know about this adorable manga they aren’t gonna be around here. Alright. So what to say? This would be the one thing in the world I wish Kyoani would animate. And seeing as the guy who wrote this is from KEY (see where I’m going with this?) I think it could happen. A story about a cute girl doing cute things and becoming a teacher, sounds common right? But no. That is what it is. But if you don’t tear up at all when reading this, you’re very unhuman. I bawled when I read the first volume. At school. I bawled when I read a manga at school. Thinking about it makes me sad still. And people like sad things right? Maybe they should start making cute anime (go to hell K-ON) with some substance. I wish.
  5. DeathSmiles
Another choice that nobody would pick. But I wanted a STG and a doujin shmup just didn’t seem fitting. I could have gone with Triggerheart Excelia but I think that’s a much smaller venue. DeathSmiles has a big (compared to Excelia) cast and is of high production values. But I can’t imagine it being too spectacular. Maybe if you made it on Nanoha level badass with maga explosions and yuribait. But I don’t think no one will ever make magical girls like Nanoha again. Instead, they’ll just milk that series for the fanboys. Eh on the subject of the game? Why don’t we just release it outside of Japan first?

I definately want Mirai Nikki to be animationalized. If it’s this year, then woop-dee-doo. Bones should go for it.

Oh yah, Fang-tan. Kindly delete Anime Kawaii from your blogroll now. It’s been dead for a year now.
