- PRESERVED ROSES
You know for a song that is so full of energy, this track is really lacking in it. mi-mi is fine (though to be honest Nana Mizuki really grates on me after awhile so anything is an improvement there) but hideki kind of falls flat. He’s not bad, just… lacking. I just feel like they could have done so much more with this track and in the hands of someone else, it would have been a much more exciting experience.
- FANTASTIC FUTURE
I said before how si-na has a RieKugi sound and… yup. She really does. Which isn’t exactly a huge plus in my books since I cannot listen to anything that woman sings aside from maybe the ZnT endings. Well I haven’t really liked si-na that much in the past anyways so it’s kind of fitting.
I love this song originally because, well, I loved Hataraku Maou-sama so I was apprehensive about seeing it here. Latte sounds really off here. Like lately I think she sounds just fine but she really doesn’t nail some of the longer notes. And of course, another uninspired Flash back dominant track. I hear effort but it’s so little that it doesn’t do anything for the track. Though while that was mostly true for track one, near the end of the song is pretty neat I guess.
- BABY SWEET BERRY LOVE
A loli-ish vocalist I don’t actually mind. Even though these are my least favourite kind of tracks. So really this still does nothing for me.
I didn’t really like the Gargantia OP so I feel a little biased here. Except I don’t mind this that much. I wouldn’t normally like puchi’s vocals here but since I didn’t like the vocals in the original, it’s alright I guess? And her’s at least have a little character to them that I find endearing. kinoto’s song doesn’t actually sound that bad either and it’s actually kind of fun. Subdued, but fun.
- GENESIS ARIA
Natsuhi and R.Cena sound fantastic together. Like, I’m kind of really shocked. Not to mention Icon is behind the song so my expectations are already a little bit raised. Still! I didn’t expect the two of them to sound so great together. Like I’m sure I’ve had problems with both of their vocals before but here they just harmonize so wonderfully.
hideki is back and huh. I guess I just don’t like his vocals. They just sound so garbled?
yumemi is here and I actually like her vocals this time around. I’ve had problems with her in the past but here I rather enjoy her warbly-ness. Which may be a bit hypocritical after disliking the last track because the vocals weren’t that good. Hommarju is here too so the track itself is enjoyable enough.
KANA is our vocalist and she sounds a bit different than I remember. I still like her vocals compared to most others but I expected something else. airportexpress is credited with the song and I’m fairly sure I’ve never heard that name before? Well in any case the song is actually really nice. It’s energetic and though I felt the piano was out of place at first, I quickly warmed up to it.
When I listened to the preview of this, I really didn’t like it. Listening to it now… well I like it a bit more. It’s still pretty fun and 405 and SAYURI aren’t bad. Just different? The SAN chi PINCHI SAN chi part just doesn’t really match up well between them but other than that, it’s ok.
No hideki? Colour me surprised. Last Utapri song had me laughing and this one did make me smile but Bavil and LTT aren’t that bad at all. One of them sounds a bit soft for my liking but when they harmonize it sounds pretty good. So definitely a step up from the last Utapri track.
Aku no Hana? Odd choice for Exit Trance but hey IT WORKS. 405 is fantastic and I like her much better at a track like this than the Nyarko one. It’s just a shame it’s such a short track since it’s definitely one of the best on the album.
Another weird choice? Perhaps. But MK is here and so is KANA (alongside YOZU) again. It’s actually pretty neat. Still after track 12, not as easily impressed.
I initially didn’t like YURiE’s vocals at the beginning but she sounded fine throughout the rest of the song. Though the original is Annabel and that’s pretty hard to beat, I guess! Dizzi Mystica’s remix is pretty… cute. It has such a whimsical feeling to it that I absolutely adore. Plus the chorus feels really upbeat and fun.
More MK! And immediately the song feels so fun. Ryo and 徹 are the vocals and I don’t particular care for their vocals but the song itself is so good that I can overlook that.
- SAVE THE WORLD
MK again but the song isn’t as fun as 15. It’s still nicely done and I’m pleased with it because it has flair and personality but there’s only so much you can do I guess. Latte is back and she sounds much, much better than her previous appearance on track 3.
Haha, I didn’t expect this but here we are. Even though it’s Hommarju and the original is such a bizarre song, this version doesn’t do anything particularly crazy. It’s still better than how a few others would have handled it though. YURiE sounds good though a bit lacking on the chorus but that ‘waah’ is just too cute.
Natsuhi and maburu-choko are our vocalists here but unlike our earlier Natsuhi and R.Cena super combo, these two don’t sound amazing together. Which is a shame because the Acid=Stone Valley done song is pretty okay, I guess? Yeah I rather like it. The vocalists just lack oomph though.
- THE MISFIT GO
Finishing off with a MK track isn’t so bad. Especially because it’s pretty awesome again. One of the male vocalists, 徹, returns from earlier. He doesn’t sound so bad on his own. Still, the song itself is so cool but he sounds out of place, unfortunately.
A few really decent tracks and a bunch of MK tracks I like, marred by subpar vocals. The tracklist wasn’t super appealing though but despite that the tracks I liked were mostly ones I wasn’t familiar with so I guess that’s a good thing?
